Established by the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association (KCCVA) in 2007, the Visitors’ Choice Awards provide Kansas City’s 21 million annual visitors with an opportunity to share their favorite metro-wide attractions, restaurants and experiences. Finalists in 43 categories were selected by an online panel of visitors who live outside the five-county metropolitan area. In June, more than 4,000 people cast their ballots in the final round of voting.

Overland Park was named the winner of the Favorite KC-area Destination category.  Other cities in the category included Independence, MO, Weston, MO, Lawrence, KS and Parkville, MO.

“We are honored and thrilled to be selected by Kansas City visitors as a favorite area destination,” says Liron BenDor, vice president of marketing for the Overland Park Convention and Visitors Bureau. “This is a wonderful award which reflects the hard work our attractions, hotels and restaurants all put forward to create memorable experiences for our visitors.”
