Wow! What a great evening the Overland Park CVB staff, along with the team from the Doubletree, had on the new Patio at the Doubletree by Hilton Kansas City – Overland Park Hotel on College Blvd last night.  It was a perfect evening to sit and relax with friends and colleagues.  This is the first opportunity we have had to meet on the Patio since it opened in August.  The temperature was a perfect 75 degrees and the company was excellent. Nearby our tables, a fire was burning in the pit that was surrounded by comfy couches where people were relaxing reading books and checking email at the end of a long day.   It was obvious, with this new outdoor patio, the Doubletree has captured that inviting spa like Zen of a luxury resort right here in Corporate Woods! 

“Party on the Patio” is held every Tuesday and Wednesday evening, weather permitting.  There is always a $3 food special!  The special last night was grilled hot dogs.  The full Trofi restaurant menu is also available and the drink menu is extensive, boasting a large selection of specialty martinis.  Our group shared a sampling of some of their wonderful appetizers.  My favorite was the cheese and olive tray.  We also had chicken quesadillas, fried calamari and the onion rings – all excellent choices.  

If you haven’t had a chance to stop in to the new Patio at the Doubletree by Hilton, I highly suggest you do so.  The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting.  This is a place not only for the guests staying at the hotel, but for locals as well.   The Patio would be a good location for business lunches or romantic dinners and will be open, through at least mid-October, weather permitting.
