Description: Kansas Kosher BBQ Competition
Kansas City knows BBQ home to the nation's BBQ, and this summer, the Vaad HaKashruth of Kansas City will host the first annual Kosher BBQ Competition, bringing teams together to compete for the coveted title of BBQ Master!
FESTIVAL FOOD & BEVERAGE:
Concession stands will be offering various foods for purchase. Kosher BBQ, desserts, and beverages will all be on the menu.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
11:30 a.m.
-Kid Zone opens (and remains open until 3:30 p.m.)
-Food Concessions open and will remain open until 4:30 p.m.
-Registration opens: Kosher Pickle Eating Contest and KC Kosher Co-op Hot Dog Eating Contest
12:00 p.m.
-Live entertainment begins featuring: Klezmer Music by Gregory Sandomirsky, Associate Concertmaster Emeritus at the Kansas City Symphony.
-BBQ Judging Begins: Best Chicken
12:30 p.m.
-Kosher Pickle Eating Contest (Youth and Adult)
-BBQ Judging Continues: Best Ribs
1:00 p.m.
-Live Performance by Sheldon Low
1:30 p.m.
-BBQ Judging continues: Best Brisket
2:00 p.m.
-Hot Dog Eating Contest (Youth and Adult)
3:00 p.m.
-All winners announced: Best Chicken, Best Ribs, Best Brisket, and Grand Champion
ADMISSION:
Admission is free.
Concession stands have fees, as does access to the Kid Zone.
Donations of healthy canned foods items will be accepted for food charities.
