How much space does the Overland Park Convention Center have?
The Overland Park Convention Center offers 237,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

How close is Overland Park to an international airport?
Overland Park is just 35 minutes from Kansas City international airport and within a day's drive to over 60 million people.

  • Are there any under 21 clubs?

    Overland Park does not have any under 21 clubs. Orlando's Nightclub is the only club that offers an under 21 night that I am aware of in Kansas City. It is under 21 on Sundays from 8-11 p.m. Call to verify before you head out, 913-393-2582. Orlando's is located at 126 S. Clairborne Road, Olathe, KS 66062 (just East of I-35 at Santa Fe and Clairborne). Hope you enjoy!

  • The City of KCMO has a Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund, which awards grants to organizations holding major events or conferences in the city. Does the City of OP have a similar program? If so, how can we learn more about it in support of the Philanthropy Midwest Conference at the OP Convention Center on Nov. 8-9, 2010?

    Overland Park does not offer a grant program for events coming to the Convention Center. However, the Overland Park Convention and Visitors Bureau reviews each conference, generally at the time of booking, on an individual basis to determine if and how it can best assist the group. There are some criteria that must be met to receive any financial commitments.

    The OPCVB does have a wonderful services program in place that can assist groups coming to Overland Park with everything from volunteers to press release distribution. Visit our services page for more on what is offered.

  • Did the White Haven on Metcalf close? The phone numbers I have are not working and I don't see it listed among your choices for lodging.

    Yes. After 53 years of serving travelers in Overland Park, the White Haven Motor Lodge closed on June 23, 2010. Its iconic sign has been purchased by the Johnson County Museum of History. This marks an ending to an era.

  • Has the "Third Thursdays" changed to "Third Fridays"? When art galleries are open late, etc.

    Overland Park actually has both a Third Thursdays and a Third Fridays.

    The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art hosts a Third Thursdays visiting artist presentation each month. Visit the Nerman's website for more details. We also try to post the presenting artist on our calendar of events whenever possible.

    Downtown Overland Park merchants host a Third Fridays each month where shops and galleries stay open late. For more information on this event, contact the Downtown Overland Park Partnership. We also try to keep this information on our calendar as well.

  • I'm trying to download the mobile app for blackberry. I scanned the QR code and it took me to the app, but I just get a picture of a hot air balloon and a button that says "continue". When I click on the either one, the page reloads. I also went to your website from my mobile browser and clicked "download app" and I get the same thing.

    The problem is the blackberry browser doesn't handle javascript.  If you encounter this issue, download Opera Mini, and the app should work. You can get Opera Mini here, http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/blackberry/.
