Jazz in the Woods
Jazz is back! This annual jazz festival takes over Founders Park with local goods, drinks and eats and, of course, a whole lot of jazz! Experience the culture and music of this weekend festival that the community has enjoyed for 28 years. From the soulful sounds of Richard Elliot to the originality of Kelley Hunt's blues and roots style - you might just find a new favorite! June 9 - 10
Boulevardians take over the Stockyards District - one of the oldest areas of Kansas City (and a local foodie hot spot) - with their own urban culture celebration. For two days local and national performances, shopping and family activities ensue. Sipping and snacking are also a big part with 50+ craft breweries and top-shelf chefs satisfying visitors' appetites. Learn about Boulevardia's eco-education inside Greenville, their one-of-a-kind pop-up park with carnival rides for the family to learn, play and relax with an acoustic music stage. June 16 - 17
Nearly 200 BBQ contestants come to Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park to battle it out for the Grand Champion title - the Kansas State Championship. The BBQ is just half the fun: free children's activities, live music, and samples make for a fun, family-friendly foodie time! June 23-24
The iconic Country Club Plaza's Spanish-inspired architecture and Brush Creek are lined with artists, retailers, and restaurants for the tradition of the Plaza Art Fair. These nine blocks welcome over 250,000 folks who simply share the love of art and community at this nationally top-ranked art festival. September 22 - 24
