While we were all cooped up this spring, a handful of Overland Park restaurants have been working hard on opening their doors. And let me tell you, we are all in for a treat. Below are 6 (and a half) new places to grab some grub.

This new to Overland Park Mexican restaurant is now open. Ixtapa Fine Mexican focuses on three main things. Fresh. Authentic. Flavorful. Don’t be ashamed to ask the chef for recommendations as the menu is more authentic than you may see at other Mexican restaurants.

New to Strang Hall in Downtown Overland Park, is Fenix, a Latin inspired restaurant. There are three words that describe Fenix. Tacos. Tacos. Tacos. In their own words, they are serious about tacos, and that shows. May we suggest ordering yourself the Tres Tacos? This way you can try three tacos of your liking.

La Fuente

Craving Mexican street food? La Fuente is going to be right up your alley. Sure they have street tacos, but here you will also find traditional offerings like tortas, quesadillas and burritos. Pair that with a side of guac or queso and you will have a meal you won’t regret.

Salads, bowls, and grains. Cultivare is a brand new and one of a kind fast-casual restaurant in South Overland Park. At Cultivare you will find items on the menu like Steak and Gorgonzola Salad and a Maple Miso Bowl that will not only taste great, but leave you feeling great after as well.

Tay’s Burger Shack

Love a good burger? You are going to want to add Tay’s to your list. Tay’s burgers are made from fresh grass fed beef and paired with hand cut fries. You will be hard pressed to find many burgers that are better than Tay’s.

Parisi Coffee

Coffee lovers unite. Parisi has opened their new location in Downtown Overland Park. This place is a coffee lover’s dream come true. Parisi describes their new Overland Park coffee shop as approachable, yet elegant.

Best Regards

This is where the half comes in. Best Regards has been a staple in the Overland Park bakery scene for quite some time. However, they now offer ice cream. This isn’t just your run of the mill ice cream either. This is small batch, homemade ice cream that features items from their bakery… IN THE ICE CREAM! Try the crinkle cream, you won’t regret it.
