Don’t let the sun keep you indoors in the summer! Sweet summertime is meant to be outdoors. We found the best ways to beat the heat in Overland Park.

 

Overland Park’s Public Pools

 

Stonegate Pool was rebuilt in 2009, holding more than 7,100 square feet of water. There is a 22-foot-high spiral water slide with approximately 135 feet of twists and turns, one-meter diving board and side diving, and a 25-meter lap lane. And a youth pool with fountains and zero depth entry for little ones.

Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center is Overland Park’s largest overall pool facility. You’ll find an inflatable play feature, a 60-foot-long family slide, a 25-meter lap lane, fountains at the youth pool, and cabana-style shaded lounge seating, and an adult-only cabana area. Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center’s picnic shelter is available to rent as well.

Young’s Pool is known makes its mark with a 31-foot-tall water slide that dares guests to take the plunge. Young’s pool is heated with an Olympic-size pool. The kids (or adults) can enjoy a flume body slide, diving boards, and a 25-meter lap lane. There is a whale slide at the youth pool with zero depth entry for the little ones.

Matt Ross Community Center Matt Ross Community Center has three different indoor pools that provide opportunities for lap swimming, group exercise, swim lessons, leisure swimming, or relaxing in the spa.

Bluejacket Pool includes a 25-meter lap lane, zero depth entry, jet bench seat, one-meter diving boards, 12.4 foot deep diving well and a youth pool with a dolphin water slide.

Overland Park’s Splash Pads 

 

Thompson Park splash pad sits at the center of Thompson Park located in Downtown Overland Park.

Roe Park splash pad sits on the former Roe Pool site at 10400 Roe.

Sapling Grove Park is at 8210 Grant and was renovated in late 2017 with a splash pad for little ones.
