Holiday Market / December 3rd

Take advantage of this opportunity to shop at the Overland Park Farmer's Market for holiday gifts and goodies! You'll find all the same farm fresh produce and local foods you're used to at the Matt Ross parking lot! The Holiday Farmers' Market is an extension of the farmers' market season and will feature our 2021 season vendors. Come and get it! Last chance for farm fresh apples, broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers, eggplants, green beans, pumpkins, squash and sweet corn!

Holiday Lights at the Farmstead / November 24th - January 8th 

The Farmstead is closed, but the holidays are alive at Deanna Rose! Join the Farmstead for a light show synchronized to your favorite holiday songs and movie soundtracks! Tune in to 90.5 Rose FM as you watch the spectacular show dance to the sounds on the radio. Bring some cocoa, cookies and blankets to view the lights and hear the music from the warmth of your car in the Farmstead’s parking lot. The display is at the main entrance of the Farmstead. This event is free.

Luminary Walk at the Arboretum / November 25th - December 17th 

Kick off your holiday season with a festive family walk through the lights at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens! During the four weekends following Thanksgiving, take a stroll along the lit pathways to experience the magical Gnome and Fairy Villages, serene winter woods by candlelight, and the colorful Children's Garden. Enjoy musical performances and visit with Santa in his Woodland Depot. The gardens are bright with color while the quiet woods are lit with candles lining the walkways. Trees, buildings, and bridges are all part of the show, with thousands of lights aglow. $15 a person. Under 5 is free.

Candlelight Stroll Adult-Only Night at the Arboretum / December 1st 

Leave the kids at home! This adults-only night at the Arboretum is for one night only. The Candlelight Stroll is for those looking for a quieter Luminary Walk that still features the glow of candles through the woods, dazzling light displays, live musical performances and the enchanting gnome houses, all without children. It will be the ideal wintry date night or friends’ night out as it’s much more peaceful than the exuberant family-fun atmosphere of the traditional Friday and Saturday night Luminary Walks. In addition, Embrace the Grape will sell wine and a hot adult beverage to enhance your leisurely walk through the magical gardens. Tickets are $16 per adult.

High Tea at the Embassy / December 3rd 

Join the Singapore Club of KC for a cozy afternoon, immersing yourself in the diverse and distinctive culture of Singapore at the Embassy Suites! Indulge in Singapore cuisine such as Curry Puffs and Sticky Rice and of course, tea. This is event is for adults 18 and over. Tickets are $12.50 per person.

Mayor’s Holiday Festival / November 18th 

It's the Overland Park Mayor's Holiday Festival! Head to Downtown Overland Park to watch Mayor Curt Skoog and Fox4 reporter, Abby Eden, as they light the Thompson Park tree at 6 pm. The program begins at 5:00 on the stage and includes special holiday performances, Mayor Skoog’s check presentation to local nonprofit, Growing Futures Early Education Center and the official tree lighting! Head to the Hallmark-movie-charm of Downtown OP for photos with Santa and do some holiday shopping. The event is free! Please note: The Mayor's Tree Lighting will be held at Thompson Park, not the Clocktower tree.

Doug Talley Quartet at Midwest Trust Center

Formed in 1995, the quartet has performed at numerous festivals, concerts, clubs and schools throughout the Midwest. Spend an evening listening to jazz with colorful harmonies and strong rhythms of the Doug Talley Quartet.
