Valentine's Sweets & Treats
Strang Hall

Choose between a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Milkshake for a dessert-style treat or a White Chocolate Raspberry Macchiato for a fun and flirty sip. No matter which you pick, it’s love at first taste! These drinks are available until close of business on February 14.
Kate Smith Soirée
Kate Smith Soirée is the definition of Valentine’s Day magic, so of course, it had to make our list! This boutique bakery serves up pink, decadent delights all year, but their 2025 Valentine’s menu takes it to another level. Some highlights include: strawberry champagne cakes, chocolate raspberry cakes, mini lunchbox cakes, conversation heart macarons, pastry boxes and a french macaron gift box. They are taking a limited number of preorders, so make sure you order yours for pickup soon! Pick ups are available February 13-16.
André's Chocolates
Nothing says "Happy Valentine's Day" like a box of specialty chocolates, and that's what André's Chocolates is known for! This year's Valentine's Day menu features tons of heart-shaped treats, including: a chocolate candy-filled heart, flavored truffle hearts, chocolate bâtons, jam heart cookies and so much more. Date Night Ideas
For the Competitive Couple
If a little friendly rivalry keeps the spark alive, this date night is for you! Start at Activate, an interactive game experience where you’ll team up (or go head-to-head) in high-energy challenges that test your agility, strategy, and problem-solving skills. After working up an appetite, head to Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, where the competition continues. See who can grill the perfect bite or master the art of flipping meat with chopsticks. Finally, wrap up the night at Cardboard Corner Café, where you can sip craft cocktails while battling it out over a board game.
For the Laid-Back Lovebirds
Kick off your evening with a 60- or 90-minute couples massage at Sunlighten Day Spa, where soothing aromatherapy and expert hands will melt away stress. After reaching peak relaxation, head to Nick and Jake's for a glass of wine and a chef-driven meal from their special Valentine's Day menu. The night isn’t complete without something sweet, so swing by Andy’s Frozen Custard on the way back to your hotel.
For the Art Aficionados
If you and your date find inspiration in bold colors, creative expression, and a touch of the avant-garde, this artsy evening is the perfect fit. Start at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, where you’ll explore the latest vibrant exhibit featuring Jeremy Scott’s daring runway designs—yes, including the unforgettable hamburger skirt worn by Katy Perry. Afterwards, continue the creative theme with dinner and a show at The New Theatre & Restaurant, where you’ll enjoy a delicious meal paired with top-tier live entertainment.
For the History Buffs
Step back in time with a date night full of nostalgia and local history. Begin at the Johnson County Museum, where you’ll explore the region’s past, from early settlers to suburban expansion. Then, continue your retro-inspired evening with dinner at Dragon Inn, Overland Park’s oldest restaurant, serving classic Chinese dishes since the 1970s. Finally, end the night at Glenwood Arts Theatre, an independent film theater built in 1966 that still exudes old-school charm.
For the Classic Romantics
For a more traditional Valentine's Day experience, start your date night by exploring all of the art galleries in Downtown Overland Park. Make a game out of it by pointing out your favorite piece from each gallery to each other. Heat things up by visiting Aubrey Vineyards for their Valentine's Day Weekend Celebration, where you'll have the opportunity to savor three delectable small bites, each perfectly paired with selected wine to delight your palate. Tickets must be purchased online in advance, so plan ahead!
