Thompson Park re-opened following extensive renovations in the summer of 2020. Located on the main drag of Downtown Overland Park, the park now features two open-air shelters, new restrooms, a performance stage, seating areas, outdoor grilling area and picnic tables, outdoor working space with wi-fi, a play ground area, including a crawl tunnel, climbing structure, spinner, swings, and water play. Thompson Park is named after Downtown Overland Park business owners and philanthropists, Frank and Evangeline Thompson.
The Interurban Arthouse is a collaborative space hosting artists, performers and creative industries. Open to the public six days a week with a reception every third-Thursday, you never know what you’ll find – and no two visits are the same.
