For the indecisive crew, check out one of these jack-of-all-trades restaurants offering menus with diverse entrée options. Savor the creamy Cajun chicken pasta with andouille sausage and peppers at Red Door Woodfired Grill. Norwegian salmon with crispy potatoes, brussels and lemon aioli is featured at Yaya’s Euro Bistro and Chipotle braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and onion strings is calling your name at Blue Moose. *Bonus: Order any item on Red Door Grill’s Restaurant Week menu and get 20% off ANY bottle of wine.
Break outside your cuisine comfort zone with these international menus. Have a taste of Tuscany at North Italia – we (highly) recommend the Bolognese over tagliatelle pasta. All the Italian standards await at Garozzo’s Ristorante, a family-owned hotspot known for its outrageous chicken spiedini. Or take your taste buds south of the border with Mexican fare at Ted’s Café Escondido. Caution: the combo steak and shrimp fajitas are known to induce a food coma, but be sure to save room for the cinnamon and sugar-covered sopapillas for dessert! *Bonus: Dessert enthusiasts won’t want to miss the tiramisu or salted caramel budino at North Italia.
Mouthwatering Midday Menus
Scrap the sub sandwich and treat yourself to pulled pork, balsamic barbecue sauce, cabbage and calabrese on a pretzel bun at Pinstripes. Or, if you prefer comfort food over the lunch hour, reserve a table at Nick & Jake’s and order the famous “Mama’s Meatloaf” with whipped potatoes and rich, brown gravy. In a mashup for the ages, Louie’s Wine Dive is serving up champagne fish and chips to its lunch-goers – YUM! *Bonus: Every single item on Pinstripes’ menu is made from scratch, even the gelato!
Try a modern take on comfort food at Beer Kitchen in Westport where the Restaurant Week menu includes bone-in root beer braised short rib with sweet potato puree and rainbow swiss chard. Or head over to the Country Club Plaza and sample Gram & Dun’s drool-worthy shrimp & grits served with blackened, jalapeno avocado gravy. Our third KC can’t-miss restaurant is Michael Smith where a homemade Torchio pasta with shrimp, calamari, lemon and white wine-garlic sauce awaits. *Bonus: The first courses are a treat in themselves at Beer Kitchen; start off with crab bisque or buttermilk fried oysters, both included on the Restaurant Week prix-fixe menu.
