Royals Weekend in Overland Park

Baseball season is here, and that means a trip to The K. From taking the entire family to a game, or a getaway with the guys or girls, hitting up a Royals game makes the perfect weekend getaway.

Make the most out of your weekend trip to Overland Park while you are seeing the boys in blue. We’ve got a few things to add to your itinerary to ensure this trip is still being talked about next year.

Get Caffeinated

It is going to be a full day, so you need to make sure you take all the precautionary measures to keep pace all day long, from sun up to sun down. Royals weekend waits for no one! Sharpen Your Hatchet

There is no better way to get the adrenaline pumping for a Royals game than to throw a hatchet. Bring your own beer or wine, but make sure to leave your hatchet at home, because those are provided. Nothing to fear though, most people show up never having thrown a hatchet. After a friendly competition amongst friends and family, you just may be surprised who hits the bullseye.

Ok, this one is going to take a little planning on your end, but I promise it’s worth it. Pack a small portable grill and grilling supplies before you leave for Overland Park, then swing by Wiener Kitchen before the game. Wiener Kitchen offers a variety of meat, but we highly recommend trying out a few of their sausages. Once you get to the parking lot, fire up the grill and let the tailgate begin. It will be a hit no matter who you are with, giving you the true local experience at The K.

Postgame Celebration

Don’t let the fireworks stop at Kauffman Stadium. Sure, the game might be over, but that doesn’t mean the fun needs to end. It’s time to head to Topgolf to get some swings of your own in. Sure, this may be with a golf club, but for some of us, this swing isn’t much different than a baseball swing. Oh, did I mention they have injectable donut holes on the menu? You’re welcome.
