Join Chef Sergio Lara as he brings his beloved Mexican Christmas tradition to life—handmade tamales, the heart and soul of holiday gatherings across Mexico.
In this festive hands-on class, you’ll learn how to create three delicious varieties of tamales that capture the joy, flavor, and togetherness of the season.
Chef Sergio will start by sharing how to make two classic accompaniments—his bright and zesty Pico de Gallo and perfectly seasoned Spanish Rice—before guiding you step-by-step through the process of mixing masa, preparing fillings, and wrapping tamales for steaming.
You’ll make:
Sergio’s Pork Tamales – tender, slow-cooked pork enveloped in rich California chile sauce.
Chicken Tamales with Salsa Verde – shredded chicken in a tangy, aromatic green chile sauce.
Sweet Dessert Tamales – spiced masa with brown sugar, pineapple, coconut, pecans, and raisins—a holiday treat wrapped in tradition.
