Things To Do For Early Risers in Overland Park

There’s nothing like that first sip of coffee, especially if you’re up before the sun. One of our favorite spots to caffeinate is Jinkies. This funky shop is known for its 1970s nostalgia and unique coffee creations. If you like a sweet treat in the morning, try the cookie dough latte and grab a homemade pop tart!
Maybe you just want a strong cup of joe is more your style, in which case, Pilgrim Coffee Co, Parisi and Homer’s are some of our go-tos. Keep it simple with a pour over, or amp things up a bit with some espresso.
A.M. Activity
We know we’re biased, but Indian Creek Trail is a favorite trail in the Kansas City area. The trail runs along its namesake Indian Creek, and offers multiple access points and miles of paved pathway. And, depending on where you begin and end, you can stop by McClain’s Market for a coffee or pastry during your trail adventure!
For those wanting a relaxed workout, stop by Very Well KC for a yoga class as early as 5:30 or 7 a.m.! Dropping in during your visit is easy - just head to Very Well’s website to sign up. You can check out some of Very Well’s other holistic care offerings, too, and book a sauna session or massage.
If a visit to the course is your ideal morning, get an early tee time at one of the two city courses, St. Andrew’s Golf Club or Sykes/Lady Golf Course. The two courses are a favorite in OP and Johnson County, and the tree-lined course challenges both novice and experienced golfers with five sets of tees.
Early Bird Bites
Stop in to any of Overland Park’s breakfast spots and you’ll see it pays to be an early riser. Shack and First Watch are some of our favorites for a classic breakfast spread covering everything from waffles to avocado toast. And if pancakes are your thing, there’s no better place than Snooze. Try the “Pancake of the Week,” or get a little bit of everything with their famous pancake flight.
