Next, we like to take the escalator to the second floor to browse the toy section. Scheels in Overland Park boasts a fantastic selection of toys, including LEGO, stuffed animals, Melissa & Doug products, and more. It’s the perfect spot to find gifts and let your kids explore. We always see grandparents with grandkids selecting birthday gifts when we visit!
Head to the Arcade
After checking out the toys, head over to the brand-new arcade. The Super Mario Kart racing game is a favorite among my kids. With synced arcade games for multiplayer fun, it’s a great deal at just $1 per game. The arcade provides a lot of entertainment and is a top highlight of our visit for my kids.

For those interested in hunting, the shooting gallery is a must-visit. It is $1 per game, so it’s an affordable way to have fun. Using various shooters to blast the targets, this game is enjoyable for ages five and up.
Stop at the Taxidermy Display
On the top floor, Scheels features a taxidermy display. While I thought my kids might find it frightening, they ended up enjoying a game of iSpy with the beautiful creatures on display. We always make time for a photo op with the grizzly bear and see what other animals we can spot.

Plus, all the outdoor adventuring gear you’d need like paddle boards, tents, bikes, and fishing poles. This was a great place to get my kids’ back-to-school sneakers during our recent family day out!
