Activate

If you have a highly active kid looking for a challenge, check out Activate! Each room has a special challenge and you’ll have to work together to jump, climb, problem-solve, and crack the code. The high tech bracelets react throughout your experience and keep everyone on their toes! You can have up to 5 players working together at a time and participants must be ages 6+ to play.

Ice skating, an arcade, esports, bowling, basketball, soccer, laser tag…the list goes on at AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk! This incredible facility is every active kid’s dream. We had a blast ice skating on the super smooth rink and then enjoyed an afternoon of arcade games. They also have food and beverage and even offer birthday parties! This was fun for my kids ages 6 and 4, but would be perfect for teens or preteens too.

B&B Theatres Screenplay!

Grab your popcorn and show up early to a ScreenPlay! movie at B&B Theatres 16 in Overland Park! This speciality movie screen features a family-friendly movie, but the biggest draw for kids is the large indoor play place inside the theatre. Kids can play for 30 minutes before the movie begins to get all the wiggles out.

With over 40 challenge rooms, BRKTHROUGH is the perfect night out for the family! Preteens and teens will especially love this spot with high energy games, competition, and the ability to earn points for each challenge. This is such a unique experience and one your kids will likely ask to go to again and again! Enjoy a great range of food and beverage options before or after your gaming experience. Children 18 and under are welcome. Ages 3 and under enter free with a waiver. Ages 10 and under need an adult on their team and ages 11-14 require an adult onsite.

Build-A-Bear

Every child’s favorite store, Build-A-Bear has a location inside the Oak Park Mall. Kids will love picking out a special new fluffy friend, selecting a fun outfit, and seeing their new friend come to life. Make your child's birthday extra special by taking advantage of the "pay your age" promotion during their birthday month. For example, if your child turns 5 in February, you can visit Build-A-Bear anytime that month and pay just $5 for a birthday bear!

Explore your child’s artistic side at The Ceramic Cafe, where an array of ceramics and pottery await a creative touch! Kids can enjoy customizing animal figurines, piggy banks, and more with paint. Join the weekly Storytime or Toddler Time sessions, designed for little ones to explore their creativity with a read-aloud story and personalized painted pottery.

Dave & Buster's

If you and your kids are gamers, you’ll want to check out Dave & Buster’s. This hot spot features hundreds of arcade games as well as air hockey, basketball, dance games, and more! Make it a night with dinner and a gaming pass. Or check it out on Wednesdays in Overland Park when games are half price!

This is one of the most unique art experiences we’ve ever done as a family! Hawaii Fluid Art uses a special system to create a poured art effect onto canvases. It is simple enough for kids, while still being intricate. Every design you create is a one-of-a-kind piece of art! My kids loved this experience and it was the perfect art to display in our playroom.

Impact Gymnastics

If your kids need to run off some energy, Impact Gymnastics is one of our go-to spots in Overland Park. They offer daily open play for toddlers and weekend open play for all-ages. This gymnastics gym is huge with trampolines, a swinging rope into a foam pit, a large swing suspended from the ceiling, climbing structures, slides, and more. It’s a serious workout for everyone!

Inspired Play Cafe

The perfect spot to meet a friend for coffee in Overland Park has to be at Inspired Play Cafe! One of Overland Park’s best child-friendly places to play has to be KidScape. This indoor play area combines a museum of Johnson County history with a hands-on children’s play space. My kids love all the pretend play options and I love being able to watch them engage in imaginative play. KidScape is a one-room interactive history experience where children explore different time periods and jobs through play. This indoor play spot is affordable and fun for toddlers through elementary!

Museum at Prairiefire

Does your kid love dinosaurs, insects, space, or on-hands on learning? Visit the Museum at Prairiefire to see the giant t-rex skeleton in the lobby and then head upstairs to the Discovery Room. This room is geared towards ages 3-12 and features a dinosaur excavation site, space room, reading nook, and animals to observe. If you’re lucky, you may even get to hold one!

Enjoy indoor family fun at Pinstripes in Overland Park! This is not your average bowling alley. Nestled in the lively Prairiefire area, surrounded by great shops and restaurants, Pinstripes offers more than just entertainment – it's also a culinary experience for the family. Treat your taste buds to a bistro menu filled with Italian American family favorites. Whether you're playing bocce, bowling, or grabbing a delicious meal, Pinstripes has it all in one family-friendly indoor spot!

Pump It Up

Another great indoor play option for kids in Overland Park is Pump It Up. Known for their fabulous birthday parties, be sure to grab tickets for an open play session. Your kids can jump to their hearts' content on various inflatables, featuring slides, bounce houses, and obstacle courses. Plus, there's a dedicated section designed for children aged 3 and under. As an extra perk, it's conveniently connected to the U.S. Toy store!

At Paint Glaze and Fire, you can not only paint quality pottery pieces, but grab a drink at the coffee bar! You can also work on glass, canvas, or clay pieces at this unique indoor spot for kids in Overland Park. If you have a budding artist this is the perfect spot for a parent-kid date!

Skate City

Dust off your skates and head to Skate City in Overland Park for some nostalgic fun! Not only is this a popular birthday party spot, it’s perfect for a family night out listening to music, playing skating games like limbo and four corners, hitting the arcade, and grabbing pizza. Bring your own roller or inline skates or rent some during your visit.

Why would you want to take your kids to a sporting goods store? Because it has a giant ferris wheel inside! What's even better? It's only $1 to ride. Scheels offers an incredible inventory of sports equipment, local team gear, and all the outdoor adventure gear you could imagine. Beyond that, there are arcade games, a coffee shop, an indoor play area, and even an aquarium! It's the perfect stop if you have kids of various ages and interests.

Tiny Tots Indoor Play

An adorable indoor play cafe with plenty of space for all the littles! Tiny Tots Indoor Play has a cafe, plenty of seating for parents to work or chat with a friend, and great toys for early childhood.
