New Theatre Overland Park is open year-round, producing five shows annually, each running from nine to 13 weeks. Choose from nightly performances, including dinner Tuesday through Sunday, or matinees starting with lunch on Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday.
The 2024 season includes the comedy murder mystery “Catch Me If You Can” starring Jim O'Heir from the TV show “Parks & Recreation,” the musical “Elvis: Aloha from Vegas” tracing the King’s journey through the 1970s, the comedy play “Squabbles” featuring “Cheers” star George Wendt alongside his wife and actress Bernadette Birkett and Disney’s “Newsies” Broadway musical.
Tickets include parking, dinner, and the show—delivering an affordable night out in the Kansas City metro area. Purchase single tickets for individual shows, group tickets for parties of eight or more, and season tickets that allow patrons to reserve the same table for every show.
The theater offers 627 seats in a modern stadium-table seating configuration, where you’ll find tables for two, four, and six guests in four pricing tiers: grand orchestra, orchestra, dress circle, and aisle/box.
Your personal waitstaff take care of your needs throughout the visit. A gourmet buffet is served before the curtain rises. Select from an array of chicken, steak, fish, pork, and pasta entrees along with fresh baked bread, salad, and side dishes.

New Theatre & Restaurant is a perfect venue to entertain groups from eight to as many as 600 people. Aside from the main theater, there are two popular event spaces ideal for hosting a private, pre-show cocktail party, or a business meeting.
The Lounge is just off the lobby foyer and can accommodate up to 75 people with a built-in bar and crystal chandeliers. The Marquee Room is in the upper level and can accommodate up to 100 people. Either room can be set in cocktail style or theater/classroom style seating and can include amenity packages, such as drinks and desserts.
New Theatre & Restaurant welcomes all guests age 7 and older. Check with the box office for availability of hearing devices that can be used free of charge as well as special performances for the hearing impaired. All public areas are wheelchair accessible, and eighth row seating is strongly recommended for wheelchairs. If you have medical dietary needs such as gluten-free or diabetic-friendly foods, send a special dietary needs request to the kitchen at least 48 hours ahead.
