Crafted Fair Trade
Overview
Formerly Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park, Crafted is a fair trade retailer in the heart of downtown Overland Park. This boutique's mission is more than your typical store. Crafted creates opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to market through long-term fair trading relationships. The location educates volunteers, customers, and the Kansas City metropolitan community about fair trade artisans and farmers, their cultures, and the opportunities and challenges they face. Following years of education and fundraising by a small group of passionate volunteers, Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park opened to the public in June 2000 in historic downtown Overland Park, Kansas. Many of those founding volunteers are still working to support the mission, helping make this exceptional store what it is today.
