KC Craft Ramen
Overview
KC Craft Ramen serves traditional ramen dishes, handmade dumplings and Japanese style fried chicken. The restaurant’s ramen noodles are made from scratch, with the help of a noodle machine. KC Craft Ramen also sells Japanese merchandise, including action figures and Japanese candy, available for purchase at the front of the front of the restaurant. KC Craft Ramen doesn’t take reservations, and there’s almost always a line. But it moves quickly. Once inside, diners are ushered into a narrow aisle lined with anime action figures, colorful Japanese snacks and glowing cases of refrigerated Asian sodas, beers and more. Owners Kenichi Ota, Akiko Ota and Hiro Kawashima have helped operate several other ramen restaurants across the country, but this is their first Kansas City area venture.
