Just 20 minutes from Overland Park, the Nelson-Atkins Museum holds more than 42,000 works of art spanning 5,000 years of human history. From ancient artifacts to contemporary pieces, the collection represents some of the world’s most celebrated cultural achievements.
The museum is well known for its sculpture garden and the iconic Shuttlecocks (the giant badminton birdies that dot the front lawn).
General admission is always free. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
