4th of July in Overland Park

Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular

Watch Overland Park light up with the Star Spangled Spectacular at Corporate Woods Founders’ Park. On Friday, July 4, 2025 from 5 to 11 PM, locals and visitors gather for an evening of live music, food trucks, and one of the most impressive firework displays in the metro. With performances from four different bands throughout the night and the fireworks set to launch around 10:05 PM, it’s the kind of summer tradition worth planning for. Bring a blanket, some snacks, and your favorite people (just don’t forget a leash if your dog is tagging along). In case of rain, the firework display will be rescheduled for July 5 at 10 PM.

Celebrating The 4th At The Farm

Head over to Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead for a fun-filled morning of festivities this Independence Day! From 9 AM to 5 PM on Friday, July 4, visitors will have the chance to take part in old-fashioned games, patriotic lessons in the schoolhouse, a cake walk, a pig calling contest, and even a bike parade! Access to all festivities at the Farmstead is included with admission, priced at $5 per person for ages three and older, and free for children under two.

Red White & Bluhawk

Celebrate Independence Day early at Bluhawk’s annual Red, White and Bluhawk event on July 3, 2025. Festivities begin at 7:30 PM with live music, followed by a fireworks show at approximately 9:45 PM. You can bring lawn chairs and snacks to tailgate or visit a restaurant and watch the show from their patio, and relax with live music throughout the evening. Bring the whole family to enjoy games, activities, and entertainment for all ages, making it a memorable Independence Day parking lot party.

Premier Lacrosse League All-Star Weekend

Lacrosse is taking center stage this this Fourth of July weekend as the 2025 Lexus All-Star Weekend hits CPKC Stadium from July 4-5, 2025! Watch the top men’s and women’s lacrosse players in the world go head-to-head, with PLL Eastern vs. Western Conference All-Stars and a special matchup featuring the Maybelline WLL All-Stars. It’s fast, fierce, and full of fireworks (both on and off the field). Best of all, the stadium is just about a 20-minute drive from Overland Park, making it an easy trip to catch all the action live. Tickets start at $23 and can be purchased online.

Stars & Stripes 5K & Lil' Firecracker Fun Run

Feel the freedom in every step at the annual Stars and Stripes 5K and Lil’ Firecracker Run benefitting Team RWB, a community of Veterans, Service Members, military families and civilian supporters. This year's race is taking place on the Aspiria Campus near 119th and Nall, and features a fast course, large finisher medals, post-event snacks, and so much more. Participants will compete for age group and overall awards. The 5K Run/Walk begins at 7:30 AM, followed by the Lil' Firecracker Fun Run at 8:30 AM. To sign up to compete, click here.
