Overland Park turns cheerful and bright every holiday season, and 2025 is shaping up to be packed with festive moments.
Lights glow, markets bustle, and shops stock their shelves with seasonal favorites all across the city.
Families can spend an afternoon checking out displays, hunting for unique gifts, and soaking in the easygoing holiday energy that fills the city each year.

Ice Skating
November 15 - January 10
Lace up and hit the ice at these two ice rinks this holiday season! SERV On Ice officially opens on Saturday, November 15.
Open skate is available every day from 11 AM to close. The cost is $15 per person and includes skate rentals. Reservations are strong encouraged and can be made online.
Chicken N Pickle's Ice Rink opens on Friday, November 21. Open skate is available Monday thru Friday from 4 PM to close, Saturday from 10 AM to close, and Sunday from 10 AM to close.
The cost is $11 per person for a skate pass and $4 per person for a skate rental. Children 3 and under are free. A live DJ will be performing on the ice every Friday (weather permitting). Reservations are not required.
Holiday Pop-Ups
November 10 - January 3
Overland Park has a full lineup of festive pop ups this season, including:

Kansas City Holiday Boutique
November 19 - 23
The Kansas City Holiday Boutique returns to the Overland Park Convention Center for four magical days of festive fun.
Stroll through aisles filled with over 300 vendors, each offering unique holiday décor, artisan goods, boutique fashions, gourmet treats, jewelry, and one-of-a-kind gifts you won’t find anywhere else.
Don't miss the Early Access VIP Night on Wednesday, November 19 from 5 to 9 PM, for an exclusive first look at the marketplace before it opens to the public.
The event runs 10 AM to 9 PM on Thursday and Friday, 9 AM to 7 PM on Saturday, and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday. Tickets start at $16 per day for general admission, $36 for multi-day passes, and $40 for the VIP Shopping Night.

Mayor's Holiday Festival
November 21
Downtown Overland Park will be glowing with holiday cheer on Friday, November 21 from 5 to 8 PM, during the Mayor’s Holiday Festival.
The evening kicks off at the stage at Thompson Park, where Mayor Curt Skoog will light the tree at 6 PM.
Afterwards, families can stop in the Strang Carriage House for photos with Santa, wander through festive activities, enjoy live music, and catch a holiday movie at Strang Hall.
Kids can get creative with seasonal crafts, hop on the train ride, or grab a snapshot in the Photo Bus while adults explore the Maker’s Market inside Strang Reserve.
This event is free to attend. This is a rain-or-shine event.
Electric Glow At The Overland Park Arboretum
November 26, December 10, 17, 22, 23, 26, 27, 29, and 30
Enjoy a low-key version of the Luminary Walk where only the electric lights are on at Electric Glow.
There will be no Santa, no candlelit woods, no musicians, no free cider, no trains running, and no crowds, making it the perfect choice for those with low-sensory needs.
Capacity will be significantly limited on these nights, making them ideal for wandering through the lighted gardens and studying the intricate gnome and fairy houses at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens.
Cafe Celeste will be open at the LongHouse Visitor Center selling hot beverages and snacks, as well as adult beverages.
This event runs from 5 to 9 PM, but the last walk starts at 8 PM. It takes one to two hours to go through the entire display. Free parking is available.
This event is stroller and wheelchair-friendly, but be sure to dress in warm layers to stay comfortable during your visit.
Tickets are $12 and must be purchased in advance online. Children 5 and under are free, but require a ticket to hold their reservation.
Holiday Lights On Farmstead Lane At Deanna Rose
November 27 - December 31
Head to one of the city's most popular locations, Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead, for a magical drive thru light show!
With timed lights synced to classic Christmas songs, recognizable characters and plenty of parking spots to view it all, Holiday Lights on Farmstead Lane is both stunning and free.
Find the perfect spot to park, switch off your headlights, tune your radio to 90.5 Rose FM, and get ready for the magic to begin.
The show lasts around 45 minutes and you can come and go as you please from 5 to 10 PM. But even if you don’t bring kids, this light show is sure to delight!
Luminary Walk At The Overland Park Arboretum
November 28 & 29, December 4*, 5, 6, 11*, 12, 13, 18*, 19 & 20 (Adults-Only*)
Prepare to be amazed at the 26th Annual Luminary Walk! Stroll through twinkling trails at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens as hundreds of softly glowing candles and festive lights bring the winter night to life.
As live music flows through the candlelit woods, you'll find fairy and gnome villages, holiday trains and maybe even snap a photo with Santa Claus. Trees, buildings, and bridges are all part of the show, with thousands of lights aglow.
This event runs from 5 to 9 PM, but the last walk starts at 8 PM. It takes one to two hours to go through the entire display. Free parking is available.

Experience the magic of the gardens with an Accessibility-Friendly Cart Tour designed for guests with mobility needs, featuring staff-driven 3 or 5 passenger carts that take you through the dazzling light displays. The cost is $45 for a 3-Seat Cart and $75 for a 5-Seat Cart. December 1-3 only.

Bright at Bluhawk: Holiday Tree Lighting
November 28
Bright at Bluhawk: Holiday Tree Lighting brings a festive kickoff to the season on Friday, November 28, from 6 to 7:30 PM, and admission is free for everyone.
Families can gather for the official tree lighting, enjoy seasonal music, and visit activity stations set up throughout the Bluhawk district.
Kids can create holiday crafts, meet cheerful characters, and take part in small surprises planned for the evening.
Visitors can also explore nearby shops and restaurants while soaking in the holiday atmosphere. It’s a cheerful, easygoing way to ease into the season with your crew.
Holiday Market
December 6
Celebrate the end of the 2025 Overland Park Farmers' Market season at the Holiday Market on December 6 from 8 AM to 12 PM.
Shoppers can browse gifts, seasonal produce, baked goods, and specialty foods while enjoying the lively atmosphere that comes with the final market of the year.
Local vendors will have plenty of crowd favorites along with holiday treats, making it an easy place to finish gift shopping or stock up for gatherings.
Santa Claus will be visiting the Carriage House in Thompson Park from 10 AM to 12 PM, giving families a cheerful stop to round out their morning at the market.
Holiday Shows at Midwest Trust Center
December 6, 11 & 13
