5 Mocktail Spots To Try This Dry January
As we kick off the new year, many are putting their resolutions to the test with Dry January!
f you're visiting Overland Park, you’ll be happy to know there are several sober-friendly spots with mocktails on the menu. Here are some of my favorite places to find a mocktail in Overland Park with all of the flavor and none of the buzz.
Aahaa Modern Indian Cuisine
Featured Mocktails: Tamarind and Ginger Fizz & Berry Mojito
This recently remodeled Indian spot offers an authentic and flavorful dining experience by combining traditional Indian dishes with modern twists. While Aahaa Modern Indian Cuisine's focus is on bold, spiced dishes, they also have a great selection of beverages, including house-made mocktails like mango lassi and rose-flavored drinks. Their mocktails pair wonderfully with their rich curries and aromatic biryanis, making it a great spot for a dry January meal. Plus, they're participating in KC Restaurant Week 2025 this month! We tried the Tamarind and Ginger Fizz, a tangy blend of tamarind and ginger topped with soda water, and the Berry Mojito, a refreshing bubbly drink filled with fresh berries.
Of Course Kitchen & Company
Featured Mocktail: Channel Orange
Of Course Kitchen & Company is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Overland Park and they have a selection of mocktails on their menu year-round. The menu is a blend of South Indian flavors and American ingredients and it's absolutely delicious. Their attention to detail in both food and beverages is evident in their non-alcoholic drink options. They have three zero proof cocktails on the menu and serve non-alcoholic wine by-the-glass. My top pick is the Channel Orange, a refreshing blend of carrot, ginger, turmeric, and nonalcoholic sparkling Vinada Chardonnay sauce. Visit from January 10-19 to try their mocktails and their KC Restaurant Week menu!
Snooze, An A.M. Eatery
Featured Mocktail: Strawberry Lavender Lemonade
For brunch without the booze, get your fix at Snooze! This popular breakfast and brunch destination is known for its eclectic menu of morning favorites. Alongside their well-known brunch cocktails, they also offer delightful mocktails to complement your breakfast. Picture house-made juices, herbal teas, and sparkling waters infused with fresh fruits – perfect for a sober brunch during dry January. I sipped on the Strawberry Lavender Lemonade, which is made with strawberry coulis, lavender simple syrup, house sour mix, honey simple syrup & sparkling water.
Firebirds Wood Fired Grill
Featured Mocktails: Charred Pineapple Agua Fresca & Blood Orange Tamed Mule
Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is a fun spot known for its elevated American cuisine and wood-fired steaks. Their menu includes a range of beverages, and if you're looking for a mocktail to pair with your meal they have you covered! Firebirds handcrafted non-alcoholic beverages like lemonades, teas, and soda infusions, are perfect for anyone looking for fine dining without alcohol. We tried two of their signature mocktails: the Charred Pineapple Agua Fresca, a blend of fresh pineapple, lime juice and chilled water topped with grill-seared pineapple, and the Blood Orange Tamed Mule, made with blood orange elixir, fresh lime juice and ginger beer. They were both as beautiful as they were refreshing!
Cardboard Corner Cafe
Featured Mocktails: Mai Tai
For a fun and casual spot with great food, drinks, and board games, Cardboard Corner Cafe is a top pick. While the cafe is known for its playful atmosphere, they also offer non-alcoholic beverages and fun food that suit all ages. Whether you're there to game or grab a bite, they offer creative mocktails to sip while you play. My top pick is the Mai Tai, a non-alcoholic twist on the well-known cocktail, made with orange, pineapple, lime, almond simple syrup and grenadine.
So whether you're participating in dry January, living a sober lifestyle, or simply looking for a healthier alternative, these five mocktail spots in Overland Park are sure to quench your thirst. Visit one (or all of them) and treat yourself to a delicious, alcohol-free experience that doesn’t compromise on taste or fun!
