Kiyoshi Omakase brings an intimate, high-end dining experience to Downtown Overland Park, where every meal feels like a live performance.
With just eight seats at the counter, guests are invited to place their trust in Chef Jerry Cao, an Edomae-trained sushi master with more than 18 years of experience.
True to the meaning of omakase, or “I’ll leave it up to you,” each seating unfolds as a chef-curated progression of 12 to 18 courses featuring premium seasonal ingredients sourced from Tokyo’s Toyosu Market and top fisheries around the world. Expect precision-sliced fish, carefully torched bites, and luxury touches like A5 Wagyu, foie gras, black truffle, and premium caviar, all woven into a one-of-a-kind culinary journey.
At $98 per person, Kiyoshi offers the only omakase experience in the state of Kansas. Reservations are required and can be made online.

At this real-life working ranch, private groups and individuals are invited to experience a day of authentic Midwestern ranch life with elevated service.
The experience offers: meeting animals at the ranch (including Kevin the camel), creating personalized cowboy gear at the boot & hat barn, saddling up for a horseback trail ride & cattle drive, a cattle sorting & demonstration with professional wranglers, a classic KC-style BBQ lunch, and whiskey & wine tastings.

Tasty African Food KC

A brand-new African restaurant has gained many new fans after a food reviewer's post went viral.
Tasty African Food KC is owned by two best friends who are originally from Liberia, but the menu is more than just West African dishes.
You'll find Joloff rice, egusi soup with fufu, African chicken wings, curries, samosas, and so much more.
Don't leave without trying one of their house-made lemonades. Pick from flavors like strawberry mango, dragonfruit, piña colada, or signature hibiscus.
Stockyards Brewing Co.

Stockyards Brewing Co. just opened a brand-new taproom in Overland Park!
The original location in the Stockyards District of Kansas City opened in 2016 and creates great tasting, locally made beers with modern, sustainable techniques.
Their tap list rotates regularly, but Black IPA Rodeo Series #7 is a constant and the reason many regulars keep coming back for another round.
Venture in to the taproom to catch a sports game, chat with friends at the bar, or play tabletop games with friends.
Mocha Point Yemeni Coffee House

A new late night coffee spot has arrived in southern Overland Park with the opening of Mocha Point Yemeni Coffee.
Founded by Overland Park native Omar Abdelmoity, the café is designed as a place to gather, study, or wind down after a long day.
The menu highlights authentic Yemeni coffee, including classics like cappuccinos and americanos alongside pistachio lattes, matcha, and traditional Adeni chai.
Turath Coffee

Turath Coffee is a new Overland Park coffee shop worth checking out for its Arabic-inspired drink menu and late-night hours.
The shop serves coffee and matcha drinks with flavors like cardamom, fig, cinnamon and pistachio, along with desserts, giving customers something different from a typical coffee run.
We highly recommend trying the Fig Matcha topped with sweet cold foam, or the Turath Latte which is flavored with traditional Arabic spices and dates.
They are open 11 AM to 10 PM Sunday through Thursday and 11 AM to 11 PM Friday & Saturday.
Sugar Llamas

Say hello to Sugar Llamas, your one-stop treat shop!
This Oklahoma-based bakery and coffee shop has expanded, bringing their specialty coffee, ice cream and signature mini donuts to Overland Park.
The donuts are freshly-prepared and topped right in front of you, ensuring they are hot, crispy and fluffy.
Favorites include the Lemon Bar (powdered sugar, lemon and graham cracker), the Coco Nana (chocolate and banana), and the Flinstone (vanilla and fruity pebbles).
Sammie's Kitchen & Bar

Sammie's Kitchen & Bar is now open in South Overland Park!
Known for its fresh, made-from-scratch menu, Sammie’s focuses on carefully sourced, high-quality ingredients and dishes prepared with attention to detail.

Slow Rise Doughnuts

After building a cult-like following one farmers' market at a time, Slow Rise has officially began developing their brick and mortar store in Overland Park!
They create sourdough-based donuts with crisp edges, pillowy centers, and fillings that change with the seasons. Each batch is fermented for up to 72 hours, giving every bite a subtle tang that sets them apart from other sourdough based sweets.
The bakery is currently open on Friday mornings at 8 AM and Saturday mornings at 9 AM. We recommend getting in line an hour before open to secure the most-coveted donuts in all of Kansas City!

Kata Nori Hand Roll Bar

Overland Park is about to get a stylish sushi destination with the arrival of Kata Nori, a hand roll sushi bar. Expected to open in June 2026 in Hawthorne Plaza, Kata Nori will bring its signature U-shaped counter experience to OP, where guests can watch hand rolls prepared to order with seafood air-shipped weekly from Japan and served immediately. The experience will go beyond sushi, with a menu that also includes seasonal crudos, refined small plates, and a thoughtfully developed cocktail and sake program.
The Dressing Room

A speakeasy-style cocktail bar disguised as a boutique is coming to Downtown Overland Park. The Dressing Room will open on the ground floor of InterUrban Art House later this year. Upon walking in, you'll be able to browse and shop women's clothing and accessories. Past the racks of clothing will be a secret door to the speakeasy lounge where cocktails and mocktails made from female-owned brands like Mean Mule Distilling Co. and Café Corazon.
Lorellie's Handcrafted Caramels & Chocolates

Looking for a new sweet treat? Lorellie's Handcrafted Caramels & Chocolates is opening soon and will specialize in handcrafted, hand-cut, and fork-dipped caramels, with every batch made completely from scratch.
Yard House
Nall Avenue & West 115th Street
Local diners and visitors have something new to look forward to as Yard House plans a location in the mixed-use development coming to Central OP. The restaurant will serve classic American fare and draft beers. Construction is underway with an anticipated arrival in late 2026, meaning Overland Park’s food scene will soon have a new locally-loved spot for dinner and drinks.
The Capital Grille

Get ready for the ultimate fine dining experience, because The Capital Grille is coming to Overland Park in 2026! Announced alongside Yard House and a four-story AC Hotel by Marriott, the upcoming Capital Grille will bring its signature upscale steak, seafood, and extensive wine program South of the metro.
R Qahwah Cafe
7319 West 95th Street
R Qahwah Cafe is opening in Overland Park this spring and will focus on Yemeni coffee and Arabic-inspired offerings. The menu will include espresso drinks made with Yemeni beans, traditional drinks like mufawar, Japan-sourced matcha, and a rotating selection of Arabic pastries and sweets. Green coffee beans will be imported and roasted locally in Kansas City, with educational details placed throughout the space to help guests learn more about the coffee’s origins.
