Rajmahal Indian Cuisine & Bar

Prairiefire has a brand-new restaurant patio to enjoy this summer: Rajmahal Indian Cuisine & Bar! The restaurant serves bold Indian flavors, irresistible bar bites, and top-shelf cocktails in an elevated, sit-down setting. They are currently in their soft opening phase and are open by reservation only 5-10PM Mondays and Tuesdays and 11AM-10PM Wednesdays thru Sundays. Their official grand opening is slated for Saturday, July 26.
Paris Baguette
11137 W 95th Street & 15895 Metcalf Avenue
Paris Baguette brings a touch of French café culture with a menu full of fresh pastries, breads, cakes, coffee drinks and grab-and-go meals. The first location opened near Oak Park Mall in June 2025, and a second spot off 159th Street opened in August. Don't skip the supreme croissants! These round, flaky pastries come filled and topped with pistachio, strawberry, or chocolate. Croissants are baked in-house each day, and the pastry case stays filled with colorful desserts that almost feel too pretty to eat. Almost.
House Of Clay

Have you ever thought about creating something on a pottery wheel? House of Clay just opened in Downtown Overland Park and offers a full lineup of classes for both beginners and hobbyists. Try your hand at wheel throwing, clay inlay, hand building, or mono-print transfers in a welcoming, hands-on environment. For a fun night out, sign up for Pottery and Pinot where you'll sip wine, learn new techniques and leave with a handmade piece that's uniquely yours.
Summer Salt Ice Cream Co.

This just in... Summer Salt Ice Cream Co. is now scooping it's small-batch ice cream in Hawthorne Plaza! This locally-loved sweet treat spot is known for small-batch flavors like salted caramel, mint chip, lavender honey, and strawberry rhubarb. They offer plenty of options for all diets, including vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free ice creams and waffle cones. Stop by and find your new favorite flavor!
Odyssey Coffee

Another contender has entered the coffee shop ring here in OP, and it's coming in strong. Odyssey Coffee opened earlier this year and has already built a loyal following thanks to its partnership with Arkansas-based Onyx Coffee Lab and rotating menu of single-origin pours. The menu includes traditional espresso drinks, matcha, baked goods and breakfast handhelds. Pop in on your next visit to Overland Park and see why it’s already stirring buzz.
Chicken Salad Chick

Chicken Salad Chick just opened and has quickly became our lunch-hour obsession. This Southern-born spot has taken over social media feeds with heaping scoops of chicken salad in flavors like Fancy Nancy (apples, grapes and pecans), Lauryn's Lemon Basil (chopped pecans, fresh basil, lemon) and Sassy Scotty (ranch, bacon, cheddar cheese). The fast-casual setup and homemade flavors makes it a natural choice for anyone exploring the area.
Dutch Bros Coffee

If the steady stream of cars at the drive-thru is any indication, Dutch Bros has officially arrived in Overland Park! The Oregon-based chain is known for its expansive drink menu and energetic service model. The new location offers iced lattes, cold brews, smoothies and fruit-forward energy drinks with names like Electric Berry and Aftershock. Heads up: they take your order right at your car, so it helps to check the menu ahead of time.
85°C Bakery Cafe

Ube bread, mooncakes, cruffins, red bean bread, mochi egg tarts, and more delicious Taiwanese treats can be found at 85°C Bakery Cafe! Originally founded in Taiwan, this bakery-café hybrid is known for its self-serve setup and massive variety of sweet and savory breads. Drinks go beyond the usual coffee shop fare, with options like sparkling yuzu lavender tea, jasmine mango green tea, and creamy oat lattes. Our team's favorite menu items were the mango custard bun, guava cheese strudel and the Thai tea.
Chick-In Waffle

Ready for some serious late night flavor? Chick-In Waffle opened its Overland Park location this June! Open until 11PM or later, the menu is full of craveable options like waffle bun sandwiches, saucy wings, and fully loaded fries. Flavors run sweet, savory, and spicy, so you can stick with syrup or turn up the heat. Either way, bring your appetite.
Don Chuy's Fresh Mex & Cantina
8725 Metcalf Avenue
This locally-owned Mexican restaurant is serving up authentic dishes and innovative cocktails all day long. Don Chuy's Fresh Mex and Cantina's menu is packed with hundreds of options such as tortas, fajitas, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, ceviche, camarones, chimichangas, and more. When it comes to their cocktails, the presentation is on another level. Don't leave without ordering the Don Chuy's spinach dip topped with chorizo.
Swig

Overland Park is finally getting a dirty soda shop! Swig, a unique soda shop concept that went viral on TikTok, is opening six new locations throughout the KC metro in the next year. You'll be able to order unique soda combinations like the "Princess Peach," made of Dr. Pepper, vanilla and peach syrup and half-and-half. Two OP locations are anticipated to open within 2025: one in South OP and one in Central OP.

Slow Rise Doughnuts

After building a cult-like following one farmers' market at a time, Slow Rise has officially began developing their brick and mortar store in Overland Park! They create sourdough-based donuts with crisp edges, pillowy centers, and fillings that change with the seasons. Each batch is fermented for up to 72 hours, giving every bite a subtle tang that sets them apart from other sourdough based sweets. Although an opening date has not been released, they're aiming for the storefront to open sometime this year.
Andretti Indoor Karting & Games
11610 Nall Avenue
Get ready for some serious adrenaline pumping entertainment at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games! In addition to a multi-level electric go-kart racing track, they will offer laser tag, VR experiences, bowling, retro arcade gaming, an on-site bar and restaurant, and more. Construction began in October 2024 and the facility is set to open sometime during summer 2025.
Toastique
6445 W 135th Street
Toastique, the health-conscious café chain known for its gourmet breakfast dishes, is set to open its first Kansas City-area location in Corbin Park in South OP. The menu includes gourmet toasts, smoothie bowls, hand-crafted coffee, cold-pressed juice, wellness shots, treats, smoothies, iced collagen lattes, and a full grab & go snack case. Check out the tomato burrata toast or the refreshing dragonberry smoothie bowl on your first visit!
Saladworks
7745 W 159th Street
Deciding what to get for lunch is about to get a whole lot easier, because Saladworks is coming to Bluhawk this year! This fast-casual eatery serves salads, wraps, bowls, soups, sandwiches and paninis. You can build your own meal customized to your tastes and dietary needs using over 60 fresh ingredients available. It's estimated to open sometime in July 2025.
Umami Revolving Sushi

Get ready for a fresh and interactive way to enjoy sushi at Umami Revolving Sushi! Imagine a continuous parade of fresh, mouth-watering sushi rolls, sashimi, and delectable appetizers gliding right past your table, ready for you to pluck your favorites. The menu will also include Vietnamese food like spring rolls, pho and a boba bar. The restaurant is estimated to be open by the end of August 2025.
Tap Ins At The Greenhouse
Near the intersection of 95th Street and Metcalf Avenue
Set to open in 2025, Tap Ins at the Greenhouse is a brand-new outdoor entertainment complex. This venue will feature a 18-hole mini-golf course, a full-service restaurant, outdoor cabanas, a camper bar, a beer garden, and an ice cream shop. There will also be an 18-hole indoor mini-golf course housed in a retractable, temperature-controlled greenhouse for year-round play. They plan to offer day passes so guests can enjoy the complex all day instead of during a specific window of time.
