Put on your favorite outfit and swipe on some lip gloss because we’re going out tonight, girls!

Since moving to Overland Park a little over two years ago, I’ve noticed more and more twenty-somethings flocking to the area. It’s great because new spots keep popping up, offering plenty of fun without trekking all the way to downtown Kansas City.

Recently, I had an impromptu girls' night out with two of my best friends, and I can’t wait to share our finds with you. You’ll want to save these ideas for your next trip to OP. Spoiler alert: The evening ends with cowboy boots, a saddle-shaped disco ball, and a newfound love for line dancing!

Our first stop was Entity Lounge in CityPlace. By day, it's a coffee shop serving lattes and pastries, but at night it transforms into a trendy cocktail lounge. We started with one of their specialty, the Smoked Carajillo, a mezcal spin on an Espresso Martini and complete with tableside smoke. My girls and I caught up over drinks before heading to our next destination.

Just down the road inside the Marriott Kansas City Overland Park, we stumbled upon Zephyr Bourbon Bar, a cozy spot with a diverse drink menu and great service. I opted for rosé, while my friends chose a beer and a margarita. We couldn’t resist their fries with the garlic aioli dipping sauce, a perfect match for our night.

Then came the highlight of the night, Guitars and Cadillacs. I’ve been wanting to visit for ages, and it didn’t disappoint. Walking in felt like stepping into a Nashville bar you’d find along Broadway, complete with a live band playing country music and a crowd dancing underneath a saddle-shaped disco ball. We grabbed drinks, hit the photo booth to commemorate the night, and even shopped for custom cowboy hats at Smith Hat Company. The night flew by with live music and us attempting to line dance. We also have made plans to return for one of the line or Country Two Step dance lessons that take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays each week.

Each of the three spots that we visited had plenty of delicious non-alcoholic options available, so even if you’re not feeling up for the booze, you can still find something to sip on.

If none of the places we visited pique your interest, don't worry! The city has something for every mood. If you’re up for a sports bar, check out Maloney’s Sports Bar & Grill. Prefer a crisp glass of wine or a local beer? Downtown Overland Park is home to Brew Lab or Vintage ‘78 Wine Bar. For those who like pairing an activity with their drink, there’s SERV, which offers pickleball and yard games.

Next time you’re planning a girls weekend, consider exploring Overland Park. You might just discover your new favorite Saturday night spot!
