Dreamgirls at the New Theatre

For a stunning performance of soulful harmonies, catch a showing of DREAMGIRLS at the New Theatre & Restaurant! Running through September 10, this show brings the stories of iconic R&B forces like The Supremes and James Brown to the stage with the story of The Dreams, a female trio from Chicago who became young stars in the 1960s. India Fest

Mark your calendars for August 20 to check out India Fest! This annual celebration is organized by the India Association of Kansas City, a non-profit volunteer organization representing people of Indian heritage around the great Kansas City area. This year’s festival will feature artifacts, food, jewelry, clothing, dances, and a gala fashion parade.

The Vulcan 2023 Kansas City Open

In 2023, Overland Park, recently named as the nation's Most Pickleball Obsessed City, will host its first-ever Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour tournament event. The Vulcan Kansas City Open will celebrate its inaugural event as part of the expansion of the tour into the Midwest on August 24 to August 27, 2023 at Overland Park’s Elite Tennis & Wellness.

“SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER VERSE” Live In Concert

For a musical experience that’s a bit more action-packed, check out “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” Live in Concert on September 22! This showing pairs the Academy Award-winning animated film with a live performance of the soundtrack, including a DJ scratching turntables. Get your tickets online from the Midwest Trust Center!

 

Terra Luna

We’ve shared our love for the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens before (like here), so it’s easy to get excited about Terra Luna. This spectacular experience was created exclusively for the arboretum by the famous Quixotic performance art collective. Quixotic shows are loved around Kansas City and beyond, and there’s no doubt Terra Luna will be another can’t-miss experience! The show includes six performances between September 14-16 and 21-23, and tickets can be purchased here

 

The Second City's Comedian Rhapsody

What better way to send summer off than with an evening of laughs? “The Second City’s Comedian Rhapsody” is a new show featuring the best sketch comedy and songs from The Second City, performed by some of the best and funniest members in The Second City Touring Company. Tickets can be purchased online for the September 29 and 30 shows, where the laughs are sure to come easy and often! 

 

Overland Park Fall Festival

Join us for a two-day fun filled extravaganza in the heart of Downtown Overland Park on September 29 - 30th. The festival will be packed with hands-on activities, live entertainment and friendly vendors as well as delicious food for the whole family. Don't forget your furry little friend as dogs are welcome, must be leashed.

Pumpkin Hollow - Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead

Nestled inside the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead is the seasonal attraction, Pumpkin Hollow, running all month long in October. Bring the kids and hop on a wagon ride which takes you to a corn maze, corn box, and giant hay slide. Don’t forget to pick out the best pumpkin!

 

Oktoberfest at Prairiefire

PROST! It's Oktoberbest at Prairiefire on October 7th! Prairiefire is hosting its 8th annual Oktoberfest with a petting zoo, beer gardens, street games, face painting, pumpkin decorating and a Pumpkin Pie eating contest. It's a yearly tradition for many families so get there early!

 

Hawktoberfest in Bluhawk

There’s more PROST’ING in OP! Hawktoberfest in Bluhawk welcome its third year. This is a family-friendly, fall festival featuring live music, food, beer and wine tasting, family-friendly fun and games, and fireworks! There is plenty to do with the kids: pumpkin painting, hayrides, inflatable obstacle course, face painting, and balloon twister!

 

Night at the Living Farm

At the end of October, Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead hosts their annual event for children to come to the farm for Halloween festivities. Participate in mad science experiments, a flashlight scavenger hunt, fortune teller readings and topped off with a marshmallow roast. Don’t forget to pack a costume!

 

Movie in the Park

Grab a blanket and lawn chairs and head to Downtown Overland Park in Thompson Park for another spooky season movie Hocus Pocus.

 

Trick-or-Treat in Downtown OP

Bring your best costume and join Downtown Overland Park for trick-or-treating in Downtown OP on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 am - 12 pm. Wear your costumes and pop into DOP shops for a special treat! Enjoy a DJ playing spooktacular jams, games for the whole fam and plenty of candy to go around! Parents/guardians, please stop by the Clock Tower Plaza first to view a map of participating businesses. A digital version will also be available ahead of time or you can scan a QR code with your phone at the event.
