Prairiefire Summer Music Series
Thursdays from May 21 to September 10
Head down to Prairiefire every Thursday from May 21 to September 10 for the Prairiefire Summer Music Series! Local bands like Flashback KC and The Suburbans will be taking the stage from 7:00 to 10:00 PM.
Take in the music while you enjoy some of the best food and patios in Overland Park. Plus, this is an open consumption event meaning you can walk around the block with your drink!
The best part? This event is completely free!
Overland Park Farmers Market
Saturdays from April 18 to November 21 | Wednesdays from June 3 to September 2
This season, the Overland Park Farmers Market is kicking off the season at Matt Ross Community Center, bringing farm-fresh produce, local goods, and specialty items to Downtown Overland Park.
Starting Saturday, June 6, the market will move to its new location at Clock Tower Landing which features additional seating, permanent shade structures, expanded restrooms and new indoor spaces that will allow for year-round markets.
The Farmers Market happens Saturdays April 18 to September 26 from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesdays June 3 to September 2 from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and Saturdays October 3 to November 21 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Tastings on the Terrace
June 4, 18 & 25 | July 16 & 23 | August 6 & 20 | September 3
Sip, savor, and soak in the beauty of nature at Tastings on the Terrace at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens.
This elevated tasting experience pairs expertly selected wines with perfectly matched bites, all set against the stunning backdrop of lush gardens and serene landscapes.
The tasting runs from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and guests must be 21+ to attend (no children or pets allowed, except service animals). Reservations are required, and tickets are available online.
Third Fridays in Downtown OP

Discover the charm of Downtown Overland Park at Third Fridays, where the streets come alive with art, music, and community spirit.
Held on the third Friday of every month from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, this evening event invites you to explore local art galleries, many of which offer exclusive specials, live entertainment, and unique experiences.
Take a relaxed evening stroll on June 19, July 17, and August 21 to discover how much the district has to offer.
Summer Movie Nights at the Arboretum

Experience a magical summer evening under the stars at the Summer Movie Nights at the Arboretum on July 24, August 28 and September 25.
Bring a blanket or some lawn chairs, find the perfect spot and sit back to enjoy a film on the big screen. Gates open at 7:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to grab delicious food and drink from Café Celeste or one of the on-site food trucks before the movie begins at dusk.
Admission is $3 for children ages 5-17, $7 for ages 18+ and free for children 5 and under.
Concerts in Thompson Park

Enjoy free concerts in the park at Thompson Park from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on select Thursday evenings this summer. The lineup includes Elisia Isreal, Soca Jukebox and Twice on Sunday Band.
Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket, settle in with family and friends, and get ready to jam to live music under the evening sky.
Summer Soccer Celebrations
June 16, 19 & 25 | July 3, 11 & 19
Celebrate the summer of soccer in Overland Park with watch parties, live music, family-friendly fun and special events across three districts: Downtown Overland Park, Prairiefire and Bluhawk.
Each spot will host Summer Soccer Celebrations where you can eat, drink, play and watch the match with fellow fans all summer long. Expect big cheers, local flavor and plenty of ways to keep the fun going before and after the final whistle.

Grab your beer-lover friends and get a ticket to Strang Hall's 6th Annual Beer Fest on Saturday, June 6 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
Enjoy over 40 different beers from local breweries, live music, lawn games, and participate in wine, tequila and bourbon tastings.

The Downtown OP Car Show rolls into Thompson Park on Thursday, June 11 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
Stroll through rows of classic muscle cars, vintage cruisers, and sleek modern rides while chatting with the passionate owners behind the wheel.
Enjoy a free concert starting at 7:00 PM, grab a bite from local food trucks and restaurants, and soak in the atmosphere of Downtown Overland Park.
Downtown OP Art Fair

The fifth annual Downtown Overland Park Art Fair is taking place Friday, June 12 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday, June 13 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Stroll down Santa Fe Drive and shop over 100 local artist’s booths as you enjoy live music performances on every block. There’s something for everyone, including engaging children’s activities, lively street performers, food trucks and yummy cocktails.
This event is free to attend and is the perfect family-friendly weekend outing.
Juneteenth
June 13
Celebrate freedom, culture, and community at Juneteenth at Prairiefire on Saturday, June 13.
The day kicks off bright and early with the June Freedom Run 5K at 7:30 AM, followed by a vibrant parade at 9:30 AM.
Stick around for a full day of fun with a petting zoo, vendor booths, a bounce house, carnival games, and live performances from speakers, musicians, poets and dancers from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
July
Star Spangled Spectacular
July 4
Celebrate the Fourth of July in style at the Star Spangled Spectacular in Corporate Woods Founders' Park.
Join hundreds of residents and visitors in gathering to enjoy live music, food trucks, and a dazzling firework display from 5:00 to 10:00 PM.
Throughout the evening, you'll be able to relax and enjoy the selection of different bands and artists. The firework show will begin at approximately 10:05 PM.
Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, food, water, and coolers. Dogs are allowed but must remain on a leash at all times.
Celebrating the 4th at the Farm
July 4
Head over to Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead for a fun-filled morning of festivities this Independence Day!
From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 4, visitors will have the chance to take part in old-fashioned games, patriotic lessons in the schoolhouse, a cake walk, a pig calling contest, and even a bike parade!
Access to all festivities at the Farmstead is included with admission, priced at $5 per person for ages three and older, and free for children under two.

Moo-vie Night at the Farmstead

On Saturday, August 29, Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead will be hosting a Moo-Vie Night at the Farmstead from 5:00 to 10:00 PM!
Bring your blanket, find the perfect spot on the lawn and sit back to watch a free showing of a family-friendly movie.
Arrive early to explore the Farmstead and take part in all the fun activities before the movie begins around 8:30 PM. This event is free to attend and open to the public.
