Saturdays from April 19 to November 22 | Wednesdays from June 4 to September 3This season, the Overland Park Farmers' Market takes place at Matt Ross Community Center, bringing farm-fresh produce, local goods, and specialty items to Downtown Overland Park. This temporary location is due to construction of the brand-new Farmers’ Market and Downtown Gather Space Improvement Project, ensuring an even better market experience in the future. This year, the market will run Saturdays from April 19 to November 22, 7:30AM to 1:00PM, with Wednesday markets from June 4 to September 3, 7:30AM to 1:00 PM.
Prairiefire Summer Music Series
Thursdays from May 15 to September 4Head down to Prairiefire every Thursday from May 15 to September 4 for the Prairiefire Summer Music Series! Enjoy some of KC's greatest bands and artists from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Take in the music while you enjoy some of the best food and patios in Overland Park. Juneteenth OP
June 14Celebrate freedom, culture, and community at Juneteenth OP at Prairiefire on Saturday, June 14. The day kicks off bright and early with the June Freedom Run 5K at 7:30 AM, followed by a vibrant parade at 9:30 AM. Stick around for a full day of fun with a petting zoo, vendor booths, a bounce house, carnival games, and live performances from speakers, musicians, poets and dancers from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Celebrate the Fourth of July in style at the Star Spangled Spectacular in Corporate Woods Founders' Park. Join hundreds of residents and visitors in gathering to enjoy live music, food trucks, and a dazzling firework display from 5:00 to 10:00 PM. Throughout the evening, you'll be able to relax and enjoy the selection of different bands and artists. The firework show will begin at approximately 10:05 PM. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, food, water, and coolers. Dogs are allowed but must remain on a leash at all times.
Head over to Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead for a fun-filled morning of festivities this Independence Day! Throughout the day on Friday, July 4, visitors will have the chance to take part in old-fashioned games, patriotic lessons in the schoolhouse, a cake walk, a pig calling contest, and even a bike parade! Access to all festivities at the Farmstead is included with admission, priced at $5 per person for ages three and older, and free for children under two.
